Life as a Tarot Reader : What you need to hear isn't always what you want to hear...

Today I'd like to write a little bit about something that I've been mulling over, and which came to mind after a reading I did for a sweet soul last night.

The thing with readings is this. I'm confident that you'll receive the message that you need to receive, but that doesn't always mean it's what you want.

This can be a hard thing to swallow at times, because when we really, really want something, it can be hard to see when it isn't what truly serves us, and therefore we might not get it, or it might not work out, no matter how much work and effort and energy we put into it.

When we really want that relationship, that job, that house, that whatever it is... hearing that it might not be worth the energy? It's hard. Honestly, it sucks.

I connect with Spirit Guides in my work, and without fail they are always cheering you on.

Your guides believe in you 100% - they believe in the absolute best that you are and that you can be, they can see all of the wonderful things about you and they see what you consider 'flaws' and 'mistakes' as ways to grow and learn. Your guides love you with a love that is difficult to even fathom.

With that in mind, they will always give the guidance that is for your highest good, even for a highest good you might not be able to see yet.

If you're stuck in self doubt, if you feel like you can't do it, or you feel convinced that you're not worthy of love or success or happiness, know that you have very real souls behind you who absolutely believe in what you've got going on. They chose you very specifically, and they see and have always seen what makes you special.

Even your challenges are special to them, because they chose to help you with them, and they're a part of your Soul's journey of growth. In Spirit, there is nothing that makes you unlovable or unworthy, because no matter where you're at or what you're going through, you have the opportunity to grow in Love. Even if you miss the boat this time around, you'll have other chances.

With all that said, when your guides are showing me that the relationship you're so invested in isn't giving you what you need and that you could find a better fit, or the job you're chasing after isn't the most direct route to what fits with your Heart... I know it seems hard to believe these people / beings have your best interests in mind. You want what you want now, and these folks are telling you to let it go and go in another direction... how is that helpful?

It requires trust, and that's scary, and it's okay that it's scary. When they say 'let go' it can be all the more tempting to hold on tight, or try to turn the message around until it conforms with what you want to happen. I understand the urge to do that, and we all do it at different times in our lives.

Yet as you begin to trust, as you begin to give little bits over to your guides, to your own inner guidance, as you begin to say 'well I can't see how this is going to be better, but I'll try,' I promise that you'll begin to see things the way that they see them. The doors and pathways they talk about will begin to open up. The opportunities will begin to appear when you invest even a little trust in looking for them.

I feel really fortunate in working with the amazing people that I do. The people that hear me say 'your guides are showing me this...', and it's not want that want to hear, yet they still listen, still try to understand. I can hear the pain that comes with letting go of something you want, but it's also, at the very same time, the sound of doors cracking open bit by bit, and that's a beautiful thing.

Sometimes what you need isn't what you want, but I know that down the line you'll be able to look back and say 'I'm so glad that didn't happen, knowing what I know now.'

Your guides serve your whole good, rather than what is simply good right now. That can be frustrating in the moment, but it is always better with a little distance.
